Digital Goody Bag – June Members’ Meeting
EDI session: Inclusive leadership
Miranda Cain, Managing Director at Elev8
Lee Jones, Sales Director at Elev8
Miranda Cain is a learning professional with over 30 years of experience, across both senior operational roles, and consulting in workplace inclusivity. This has seen Miranda break through incredibly challenging conversations with leadership groups around topics such as diversity, equity and inclusion. Lee has over 20 years senior level sales and consulting experience and a background in operational delivery.
Together, their session on inclusive leadership covered why prioritising inclusion is not only a matter of legal, moral and ethical responsibility but the fact that it also has a huge impact on business performance outcomes. In addition they covered:
- Defining what D&I is and is not
- Why – the social, moral and economic value of inclusive cultures
- Dispelling the myths and legends around D&I Identity
- Perspective blindness
- The impact of exclusion (our personal experiences) and leaning into the conversation
