Workshop: Creating video
Tom Boyeson-Corballis, Digital Learning Manager at The Prince’s Trust

Tom shared with us why video is a great tool for delivering learning. It’s cheap, engaging and quick to make. But, as with anything, it can be intimidating to start with. In the session, Tom explained a simple formula for making engaging video along with resources to get you started.

EDI session: Inclusive leadership

Miranda Cain, Managing Director at Elev8

Lee Jones, Sales Director at Elev8

Miranda Cain is a learning professional with over 30 years of experience, across both senior operational roles, and consulting in workplace inclusivity. This has seen Miranda break through incredibly challenging conversations with leadership groups around topics such as diversity, equity and inclusion. Together, their session on inclusive leadership covered why prioritising inclusion is not only a matter of legal, moral and ethical responsibility but the fact that it also has a huge impact on business performance outcomes. In addition they covered:

  • Defining what D&I is and is not
  • Why – the social, moral and economic value of inclusive cultures
  • Dispelling the myths and legends around D&I Identity
  • Perspective blindness
  • The impact of exclusion (our personal experiences) and leaning into the conversation

Creating Moodle courses with H5P Moodle course pages are a great way to create quick and easy-to-use courses for learners. In this session, Charlotte walked us through the H5P tool, which allows you to create interactions directly in Moodle and make them available in your Moodle courses.

The recording will be of particular interest to those who want to make the most of their Moodle site. Whether you are new to Moodle course pages or an expert, we are sure you will find something useful.

Gill then talked through the key things you need to think about before creating your own eLearning courses.
