CASE STUDY: St John Ambulance – Using eLearning in a crisis
Carl Makins, Head of Training
Carl Makins, Head of Training at St John Ambulance joined us from the frontline of the vaccination programme across the UK. He explained how they used the Learning Management System that we provide to roll-out the important eLearning to vaccination training. He shared the process of collating resources and creating eLearning in such a short time scale. He touched on engaging volunteers throughout the process and drawing on their skills and expertise to help deliver the programme effectively.

NETWORKING: Disruption – How we emerge stronger
Laura Overton
Let’s face it, charities and learning leaders supporting charities have been faced with every level of disruption possible in the last 12 months. But with disruption comes opportunity. Organisations have been exploring new business models to support services, new technologies to build connection, and new engagement strategies to support their vision. Although budgets and resources are tighter than ever, disruption can also create an opportunity for L&D to emerge stronger. In the last year, Laura has been exploring how to emerge stronger with learning practitioners and colleagues around the globe and together they have surfaced some simple L&D tactics to help us think differently and act smarter. In this interactive session she explored:
- The silver linings of everyday challenges
- Mistakes of the past – and how to avoid them
- Practical tactics to build a stronger L&D future
WORKSHOP: Supporting underrepresented groups in the workplace
Nathan Nalla
Supporting your teams remotely with Belbin team roles
Jo Keeler
During this interactive session we looked at the nine Belbin Team Role behaviours and explored how their behaviour changes and adapts through times of change, stress and whilst working remotely.
It looks like we will be working remotely for a while longer, so we hope that this session will help you to support your teams going forward.
WORKSHOP: Inclusive learning design
Gill Chester
Inclusive design concepts need to be thoughtfully included from the ground up. As HR and L&D professionals, inclusion should be at the forefront of everything we do, and it’s no different when creating, developing and delivering eLearning. Gill Chester will be ran a workshop to amplify this topic.
Your feedback is important to us!
We base our events around the comments that we get from our members with the aim to make these days as useful, relevant and inspiring as possible. It is also a great chance for you to reflect on what you have learnt and what would be desirable in the future…
