Learning how to create a successful project management development programme from the University of Southampton Students’ Union

Learning and Development Advisor Margarita Stanelik led the development of a hugely successful project management programme at SUSU. She explains how she overcame the challenges she faced

A lot of work at the University of Southampton Students’ Union (SUSU) is based around projects: running campaigns, initiatives and events for students. But there was no project management process, limited staff knowledge in this area, and inconsistent evaluation and records of past projects. The organisation needed a clear process and staff were craving to acquire the skills to plan, deliver and evaluate effectively. Learning and Development Advisor Margarita Stanelik co-created a 10-week A to B: Project Management programme to equip teams with the expertise they needed.
