Charity Learning Consortium announces groundbreaking AI initiatives to support increased accessibility and inclusion in digital learning
The Charity Learning Consortium (CLC) is proud to announce the launch of two innovative AI-driven technologies aimed at transforming inclusion and accessibility in workplace learning.
New partnerships with Signapse and Textra.video from Box Animation Studio will provide CLC members with AI-generated British Sign Language (BSL) videos and engaging animated content to the charity sector—making learning more inclusive, accessible, and impactful.
AI-powered BSL translation with Signapse
CLC’s new collaboration with Signapse enables charities to integrate AI-generated BSL translations directly into their learning content. This marks a significant step in making learning resources more accessible to the Deaf community.
Using advanced AI, Signapse can generate BSL video content from text, audio and video in as little as 10 minutes, removing one of the key barriers to including sign language in digital training materials. With future development focused on live BSL translation by the end of the year, this partnership paves the way for scalable and meaningful inclusion.
Martin Baker, CEO, Charity Learning Consortium, comments, “This partnership reflects our commitment to equity in learning. AI-generated BSL helps us include learners who have long been underserved, by making sign language available where it previously wasn’t feasible.”
Sally Chalk, CEO and founder, Signapse, adds, “Our mission is to put sign language in the hands of every Deaf person in the world using AI – and working with CLC helps us scale our reach into sectors where accessibility has the power to transform lives. They are also a great, creative partner.”
Revolutionising elearning with Textra.video from Box Animation Studio
CLC is also teaming up with Textra to bring AI-animated video to the heart of digital learning. By replacing static, text-heavy content with dynamic, branded conversational animations, this solution not only improves learner engagement but also democratises high-quality video production.
Textra enables charities to convert policies and training content into scripted conversations between branded animated characters—delivered within 24 hours. Compared to traditional animation’s six-week turnaround, this represents a seismic shift in speed, affordability, and flexibility.
Research shows that animated explainer videos can increase engagement by 30–50% and significantly boost knowledge retention. Textra’s unique hybrid model ensures a human touch while leveraging automation for scale, eliminating the “uncanny valley” effect seen in many AI avatars.
Martin Baker, CEO, Charity Learning Consortium, comments, “Charities deserve engaging, effective learning just as much as any sector. Our partnership with Textra gives our members the power to rapidly create bespoke video content that’s as impactful as it is inclusive.”
Matthew Cooper, Founder at Box/Textra, adds, “Textra is redefining how learning is delivered—making it fast, flexible, and far more engaging. CLC’s vision for accessibility aligns perfectly with our mission to empower organisations through AI-driven storytelling.”
