UK charities London Zoo, SolarAid, Integrity Action and CDI Apps for Good have each won £500,000 in Google’s Global Impact Awards.

A board of judges including Sir Tim Berners-Lee – inventor of the World Wide Web – selected the winners. As well as the financial awards, the winners will all get mentoring support from Google staff. Six additional finalists will also receive £100,000 to help make their vision a reality.

A staggering five million people viewed the finalists’ videos – which you can watch here.

More information about the winners is also in a news story on the Civil Society website.
